"My art is an expression of who I am and how I feel." - Tracy Kenney
By Violet Kirk
When and how did you become
interested in Art? Art
was a subject that was initially forced on me in school and at that time I
disliked the ways we were taught, how or what was appropriate methods of art so
I left it alone for several years but picked up my own methods to relieve
anxiety and self-expression.

Apologies |
I see you have the name Blue Boar
Gallery listed onto your social media, can you tell us a little about the
background to your artist name? Looking into my family heritage has been something very
important to me for several years, there is a story of a supposed Salem Witch
who was accused of turning into a Blue Boar.
A lot of dark tones in your paintings,
you are drawn to darker tones, what connections do you have with your art? How
would you describe your artwork? My art is an expression of who I am and how I feel. The darker
tones are a representation of the life experiences that I’ve had and the way I
view the world.
Expelled |
Can you tell us about one specific
painting, Breathing Underwater’ What is the story behind this piece? Life’s many stresses and the pressure
of feeling it all around you. Water is such a heavy substance that when
completely enveloped it can feel deafening, it can pull you under. The woman is
all of us just trying to breathe under water.
Breathing Underwater |
How long does it take for you to
complete a piece? Do you get lost away in music when working, or do you prefer
to work in silence? Many
of my works extend from childhood up to current date so while it may only take
up to 2 to 10 hours to get it on canvas it seems like a lifetime to express it.
Music is another passion of mine, I’ve got a vinyl selection I listen to with
each painting.
Where do you see your art in the
future? My Hope is
my art will be found some place where it can be appreciated and find meaning.

for anyone who is starting out as a painter? Don’t get advice from other Artist, and don’t mix up
your drinking cup and your painting cup.
